What can my child expect at a Paint with Me! workshop?
An easy, step-by-step workshop whereby they can trust the process, relax, let go of all expectations and watch the colours do all the work. Your child will go home with a completed masterpiece that you’ll be proud to display for years to come.
Where are your workshops held?
All workshops are held in Bibra Lake, Perth, Western Australia. Full details of the studio location will be provided upon booking.
Does my child need previous experience?
Previous art experience isn’t necessary to participate in my workshops, just a love for colours and a willingness to let the magic happen.
How much are the workshops and supplies?
My workshops start at $40pp and include everything you need to complete your artwork, all supplies, paints, inks, canvas, brushes, tools, etc, which makes it easy for your child to attend these Perth art lessons.
What should my child wear?
Old and comfy clothes you don’t mind getting paint on. Leave jewellery and valuables at home and tie back long hair.
Will my child take home some art?
Absolutely! Your child’s artwork is theirs to take home straight from the workshop. What your child produces in this Perth painting workshop is theirs to keep!
Can I organise a private workshop?
Most definitely! I can organise a private painting workshop near you, at a specific preferred location or in my Bibra Lake studio. Just send me an email and I will get back to you.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure a date for all private events.
I need to cancel my child’s place in your workshop. Can I do this?
I understand life gets in the way, so I will fully refund the booking if cancelled more than 15 days ahead of the booked date.
If your cancellation is outside of this time-frame, I will offer you a credit which is available for the next three months.
If you have booked a private workshop and need to cancel, unfortunately, your 50% deposit will not be refunded, but I am more than happy to look at a future date to host your workshop.
My child is 5 years old and loves art. Can I enrol him/her in your 6 year old workshop?
The age range for classes varies depending on the theme and technical difficulties involved. I recommend you only enrol your child if they are within the specified age range. If too young for the class, they may not be able to fully enjoy the experience, they may get bored, or simply won’t understand the instructions. Fine motor skills, manual dexterity and concept development have all been taken into account when determining the age range for each workshop. I want your child to have fun and enjoy their experience to the fullest.
Can I stay for the class to help my child?
All classes are strictly drop off/pick up.
I am an experienced art teacher and can assist and encourage your child with all activities involved in the workshop. If, however, your child is young or very nervous about attending by themselves, I suggest you enrol in a Parent and Child Workshop first, to get them used to being comfortable in the studio environment.
If that is not possible, consider inviting a friend to join in the fun with them.
What to bring to a workshop?
There is no need to bring much because everything is included in the cost, however, please give your child a water bottle to bring.
My three-hour workshop includes a 15-minute break, so feel free to bring a healthy snack to keep the creative flow going until the end.
1.5hr workshops don’t allow time for a break, so please ensure your child has eaten beforehand.
I love my child’s artwork. Where can I get it framed?
Framing your child’s artwork is a beautiful idea. It will be an amazing display of skills as well as protecting your masterpiece for years to come.
I can recommend a really good local framer: http://www.framesport.com.au
If you are looking for a budget-friendly option, your best choices are Ikea, Kmart or Officeworks. I suggest taking your artwork with you, to make sure you are getting the best frame to suit the piece.
Do you only have workshops available for children?
No! Painting classes for adults as well as painting classes for kids are offered. Have a read about ‘Adult Workshops’ on this site or drop me a line if you have any further queries. There are also ‘Parent and Child Workshops’ available.
